Tack Montecarlo.
Fiffigt.

Reply to post: It became professional in the trunk! Too bad the startup doesn't seem to be in sight for a while... hope it gets resolved soon.
Thank you, Montecarlo. Most things look good when you hide the undesirable, haha!
Sunday. Well, let's drill a 28 mm hole in the body! To be able to install the newly purchased "internal bonnet release," I had to drill the hole where the hood's control pin goes down into the front of the body. Quick drilling and a test fit. Perfect. I'll rust-proof paint the sheet metal hole and then install the spring and steel cable. Then I can check that point off the list.
But when I close the hood, the front edge of the hood contacts the front where the grille is, and there is a risk of wear, so I cut a small strip of foam rubber and glued it on. It also provides good cushioning.
And now, on to another relatively small project that took longer than expected. Have we heard that before? My dad had neatly secured the cable for the license plate light on the inside of the tailgate. Unfortunately, the fasteners caught in the trunk mat at the tank, so I had to rethink it. Now you're probably wondering why I didn't leave it as it was? Well, I'm going to put a cover plate on the inside of the tailgate so that I don't have to see/drop small things into the tailgate's construction. There was a small hole in the lower edge of the tailgate intended for cable routing... mmm, but then I would have to dismantle the license plate light cover, remove the heat-shrink tubing, pull out the cable, and then try to press the cable shoes with the cable through this small hole in the lower edge of the tailgate and once again return the cable to the right place through the tailgate's construction, deal with the heat-shrink tubing again, and finally, install the light cover. Was it worth over an hour's work? Of course!
Later in the evening, Andreas came by with a computer and something called Pico, well, a gadget, and he made a bypass and connected an alligator clip to easily make contact. Clever. Worked on the battery and turned the ignition key. Still wrong, of course, but now at least we could record the signal. What this signal means, I leave unsaid. Andreas would think a bit and interpret it. Meanwhile, I'll disconnect the ignition coil, distributor, and control box. We'll take these to Olof at ONM for testing in a rig and an expert opinion. Then we'll see where problem is.
