Planning to turn my ocean green Volvo 142 into a clean rust free 16v B230 mildly tuned car that?ll keep up with traffic and do well on long adventures to discover surf around the Baltic in Sweden in style. Any tips are welcome in... Visa mer
Wow cool build. I have a 142 as wel and want to do a similar build. Already have a m47 gearbox and searching for a b230 8v.
My question is: did you changed something about the oilpan? Or is the clearence enough on the subframe because you put it in upright position in combo with self-designed enginemounts?

Hi Robert
I ended up using the b20 oil pan with custom engine mounts made by Yoshifab in the states. The mounts allows for enough clearance with no necessary modifications to the frame, however the B230’s high-flo oil pump has to be shortened to allow it clear the shallower pan.
Also with some slight modifications to the Volvo M40 crossmember it’s an easy fit with an m47. Most 142’s have pre thread holes that were meant to line up with overdrive boxes.
