Working on personal cars since the '60s, at age 16. First was a $300 '57 Chevrolet coupe 283 auto, ran well. I wanted to explore and learn so having only a few tools and a general repair manual, I rebuilt the engine, changed to manual trans with floor shift and bucket seats. It set the case for my life, with many cars and many projects. Though never a mechanic by profession, it has been a continuing work.
The next car life-changer was my first Saab 900 in early '80s, a car unlike any before, it changed my focus the Saab in various models, but always the 900 ranks top.
