Piano lack is no different than car paint its just the system or method that is different.
Many people say that piano lack is the same as "melan slip" but its not !
Piano lack is very difficult to do on a car because of all of the different curvs and shapes that a car has ,
a table or a shelf has non so this is why it is often used.
The proccess is as follows:
2 coats of primmer , 24hours drying time and then 45mins in the oven at 79o (58o on the object)
Dry sanding with p240 and a block
2 coats of primmer with 10% Klarlack mixed in
Wet sanding with p1000 and a block and then again with p1500
1 coat of the body colour and then bake in the oven for 1 hour
After the paint is dry , i go straight into the box and shoot 2 more coats on top of the other, with a larger air cap on the pistol than normal.
Dry in the oven for 3 hours at 55o and then let it cool off for 12 hours.
The next stage is to sand down the paint (carfully ) with p3000a and take away any finnish (apelsin skala)
1 coat of klarlack with FAST hardener is then applied on the car and left to AIR dry for 1 hour
I then shoot 2 coats of klarlack one after the other with a SLOW hardener and aVVVwwwwwaaaLa its done.
NOTE: You need "BALLS OF STEEL" to do this
SPEC NOTE: eg: a front wing on a car that has been piano lackade will have around 0,8L klarlack on it or 430mmL , like i said "BALLS OF STEEL"
