Ford moved into the Muscle Car market with the 1966 and 1967 Ford Fairlane GT and GTA. The Florida Car Insurance Company notes that these were awesome and amazing Cars to drive from Singer Island to Miami Beach. The 1966 Ford Fairlane GT with the 390 engine was almost invincible on the streets. We would put this Ford Muscle car up against many rivals and opponents and would defeat them as our wide fifties gripped the road and Ford cranked out horsepower. The Florida car Insurance Company and the High School fans had a nickname for the 1966 Fairlane GT, it was The Fastlane. Ask some of the Car Owners who invested thousands (back then that was a ton of money) on new Pontiacs, MOPAR and Chevys yet could not solve the 1966 Ford Fairlane GT.
