Been off this for a good bit guys due to finishing off other builds i had going on at the time but will have updates to come

Nice build.
I find it a bit peculiar that you chose the paint the chassi before hacking it up though usually you paint the chassi after all the body work is done

Great to see you respond to this thread again. I've been thinking about your project a few times and I'm glad you haven't forgot about this site or started to not care about the project car anymore. I wish you all luck.

Thanks guys I post some pics tomorrow,the car was painted blue as at the time I was only going for a exterior replica of hafsengen car but then decided to make an exact mirror copy

Some pics Made up some cage gusset for the door pillar to match the wrc cars at the time and made cage foot plates covers removed the old handbrake aswell,And matched the rear turrets to wrc escos

Sorted out the vents needing to be cut out of the new bootlid and got my hex mesh fitted in the rear and front grille,

got my recaro's and fitted and welded in the brackets,

Thanks my friend its nice to be blowing the dust off it and getting back  into the build again

dash where cut to allow it to fit over the window pillar bars has a gap that on lots of the wrc and other rally cossie is open and not covered from pics i have been looking at on the net,i have made plates that take it close to the same shape as the dash and have welded these to the pillar bars so when the car is repainted i will flock these plates to match in with the dash and it should leave it looking good i hope.

Yeah, it might not be the easiest to combine a look of perfect finish with a setup that is optimum for best performance. But Stian did managed to do so and I think you'll too. It shows how serious you are, the example of the space you're covering between the pillars after the cage was being fitted into the car. You must have watched the documentary about this car several times, right? I've done so several times, at least, and I especially like the part when Jens Hanestad speaks about the engine and the part that shows the build-up of the car. For example I remember it being mentioned that the full roll cage was built completely according to the WRC specifications from '97, so I suppose that's what you're going for too. With performance terms - will it be an exact replica there too? Like a WRC engine tuned by Jenspeed and built by Stian - that would not be easy, I suppose cause wasn't it like Stian and Jens did built so much on that engine on their own. And they're so great at what they're doing. I'm not saying that you aren't as good as them, but I would just be so impressed with if you succeed with building an exact copy in all ways. I really, really hope you'll come as close as possible. Thanks a lot for your updates.
