I have an old citroen zx 16 aura (1993)
1.6 benzine
motor effect 65 (88 kw)

Which I use as winter and daily city car

it cost about 600 SEK for full tank (14sek/L), and it last about 400 km only..
is this normal consumption for this type of car!!

My friend have 2011 Lancer 1.6 benzine, take the same amount  and it last for 700 km
(of course new car with better eco system, I mention it just for example)

I used injector cleaner about 4 times in raw; different companies (STP, also one swedish)
in one occasion I had about 5 liter of benzine with one cleaner can or bottle...

I did not notice any improvement, I waste about 350 SEK on that



By the way: the fuel cap is missing, so I am using temporary one from biltema

What else I can do to get better milage, otherwise it is not wise to have this hungry old car..

Stop with the injection cleaning since it would probbly harm your fuelpipes with time. I dont know the size of your fueltank but I guess you should be able to reach ~600 km.

What kind of traffic you drive mostly? And a new fuelcap is needed..buy a new at Citroën dealer or check www.bildelsbasen.se (Used parts)

Other than that, check for brakes that sheaf. Else would you need a new lambda, you can get the cheapest from here: http://www.worldcarparts.co.uk/

You can use an universallambda, but in the end its not worth it. Theres also a risk that it wont work propperly with your engine management.
